On September 9, CREC Vice-President Ren Hongpeng met with the visiting delegation led by U Soe Win, Minister of Planning and Finance of Myanmar, at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. The two sides exchanged views and made consensus on the related projects.
During the meeting, Mr. Ren Hongpeng made an introduction about CREC and its development on overseas market, especially the preliminary progress made on China-Myanmar Railway Project. He hoped that CREC could work with Myanmar government to speed up the signing of MOU on Muse-Mandalay Railway Project, so that the two sides would be able to sign the Letter of Intent within this year.
Minister U Soe Win Thanked CREC for its long-term support and help on Myanmar’s infrastructure construction. He stressed that the official signing of MOU on Economic Corridor is of great historical significance. The Y-shaped railway line, Muse-Mandalay-Kyaukpyu and Mandalay-Naypyitaw-Yangon, is the top priority. Minister U Soe Win also said that he believed the upgrading of Muse-Mandalay Railway would not only help to upgrade the current railways in Myanmar, but also further benefit the people along this route.
Heads of International Business Division of CREC and CREEC also attended the meeting.
