Huangmaohai Bridge is a single-column cable-stayed bridge with double cable planes and a complete floating system, which crosses two channels of the Huangmaohai Sea and adopts the design of three towers and two spans. The bridge spans 720 meters, 2200 meters, 16 types of beam sections, and the heaviest steel box girder is 420 tons. The bridge deck is designed as a split steel box girder, consisting of two steel box girders and transverse connecting boxes, with a total width of 50.4 meters, which is the first large-scale application of the split steel box girder in Guangdong Province.

The Huangmaohai Cross-sea Passage is the first cross-sea passage project to start construction after the publication of the Outline of the Development Plan for the Great Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. It is also the west extension of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, with a total length of about 31 km and a sea area length of about 15 km. At that time, it will form a group of cross-sea and cross-river corridors in the Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Shenzhen-Medium Passage, and Humen Bridge to help build a world-class transportation hub and contribute to the regional development of Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
