On July 13, the last 25-meter track panel was laid at the construction site of Hongshaliang Station in Mazongshan Town, Subei County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province. This completed the track laying project of the Liugou-Hongshaliang Railway, which is under the responsibility of the China Railway No.5 Engineering Group.
The newly-built Liugou-Hongshaliang Railway is located in the Zhongshan area of Guazhou County and Subei County. It starts from Liugou Station of Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway in the south, passes through Guazhou Wind Power Planning Area, Heijianshan, Huangcaotan, and Dundun Mountain in the north, and travels northward along the west edge of Mazongshan Ibex Nature Reserve to Hongshaliang Coal Mine Station, with a total length of 132.5 kilometers. It is a single-track railway with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. After the track of the line is completed, the next step will be to enter the work of extensive machine realignment, supplementary ballast, line sign installation, and so on.
