On November 1, three traction substations successfully transmitted electricity to the overhead contact system (OCS) for the section between Ganlanba and Mohan in southwest China's Yunnan Province along the China-Laos Railway, and a power-on running test was also finished. The electricity project was mainly undertaken by China Railway Wuhan Electrification Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (WEEG). Thus, all wirings, the OCS and the supporting equipment have been completed and accepted after inspections, creating a favorable condition for following dynamic detection.

　　The China-Laos Railway connects Kunming in China's Yunnan Province in the north with Vientiane, capital of Laos, in the south, stretching more than 1,000 kilometers in length. After completion, it will end the history in which Pu’er City and Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture have no access to rail transportation. Passengers can travel between Kunming and Vientiane within a day.
